Course Overview

Bachelor of Communication (Social Communication) with Honours programme offered by the Faculty of Language and Communication (FBK), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) is designed to produce knowledgeable, critical, and socially responsible graduates with strong expertise in social communication. The programme emphasises planning and implementing effective communication strategies for advocacy, community empowerment, and positive social change, grounded in human values and societal well-being. Students are exposed to communication theory, social analysis, and applied communication across various contexts, including communities, organisations, media, and public institutions, with focus areas such as interpersonal, mass, intercultural, development, organisational, and community communication. Through field projects, case studies, media simulations, and collaboration with industry and community partners, students gain practical experience while developing 21st-century skills such as strategic communication, problem-solving, collaboration, social leadership, and creative use of digital technology, preparing them for careers in broadcasting, public relations, journalism, advertising, corporate communication, and related fields.

Entry Requirements

A minimum CGPA of 2.75 in STPM / A-Levels / 12th Class, and an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) / IELTS Online score of 5.5.
